Zingbox IoT Guardian achieves VMware ready status

Zingbox, provider of healthcare Internet of Things (IoT) analytics platform, announced that its IoT Guardian has achieved VMware Ready status. This designation indicates that after a detailed validation process IoT Guardian has achieved VMware’s highest level of endorsement and is supported on VMware vSphere 6.7 for production environments.

The VMware Ready program is a co-branding benefit of the Technology Alliance Partner (TAP) program, which makes it easy for customers to identify partner products certified to work with VMware cloud infrastructure. Customers can use these products and solutions to lower project risks and realize cost savings over custom-built solutions.

With thousands of members worldwide, the VMware TAP program includes technology partners with the shared commitment to deliver the best expertise and business solutions to address each unique customer need.

Zingbox IoT Guardian can be found within the online VMware Solution Exchange (VSX). The VMware Solution Exchange is an online marketplace where VMware partners and developers can publish rich marketing content and downloadable software for our customers.

With its patented machine-learning algorithms, the IoT Guardian orchestrates scattered IoT assets into well-organized microsegments by discovering and identifying them and then sharing its contextually enriched data with VMware NSX manager.

The IoT Guardian’s AI (Artificial Intelligence) algorithms passively learn the normal behavior of IoT assets across its install base and can detect the threats, including zero-day exploits, and then share the threat intelligence with the NSX manager for protecting the data center.

With over 200 deployments in healthcare, manufacturing, smart city, and other verticals, Zingbox has a large repository of IoT identities and behavioral profiles. Zingbox is on a mission to provide a complete IoT governance platform–from provisioning and securing to optimization.

Working together, Zingbox and VMware can safely provision and secure IoT assets from edge to the data center to ensure business continuity and efficiency.

Zingbox passively extracts intelligence from network traffic and infers device identity while building behavioral profiles and offering actionable intelligence. Zingbox IoT Guardian employs machine-learning algorithms for baselining normal device behavior and detecting deviations in real time including threats and zero-day attacks. Zingbox detects vulnerabilities through passive network analysis and combines it with rich data sources to provide a comprehensive risk assessment.

“We are pleased that Zingbox qualifies for the VMware Ready logo, signifying to customers that it has met specific VMware interoperability standards and works effectively with VMware cloud infrastructure,” said Kristen Edwards, director, Technology Alliance Partner Program, VMware. “This signifies to customers that IoT Guardian can be deployed in production environments with confidence and can speed time to value within customer environments.”

“By using Zingbox IoT Guardian with VMware vSphere and VMware NSX Data Center organizations can reap the benefit from a comprehensive Internet of Things security solution,” said Xu Zou, CEO and co-founder of Zingbox. “Convergence of IT and OT continues to be a much-needed initiative for organizations. In healthcare, the combination of Zingbox IoT Guardian, VMware vSphere and VMware NSX Data Center produces a robust controlled network end-to-end security solution for medical devices. This new solution allows healthcare IT organizations to quickly discover all devices connecting to their networks, classify the IoT device threat levels and automatically control access privileges of these devices on their networks.”
